Since late summer, around 50 SAP customers and partners including companies such as Evonik, Varian and Ekornes have joined our Ruum beta program. They have confirmed repeatedly that their business users, who have no coding skills, can create departmental processes in minutes and hours instead of days and weeks.

It’s been a great experience working with non-technical users as they became new citizen developers. Ruum’s lightweight features allowed them to build fully automated processes by making use of Ruum’s flexible forms, approval steps, custom data fields, and integration connectors to back end systems.

They constructed their own processes and taught us about how they apply our solution to their needs. For example, we learned that the most common scenarios our customers look to automate are investment and billing requests, followed by purchase order creations and employee onboarding.

Now, we want to dive deeper into the many different use cases and continue improving Ruum for our customers’ needs. In addition to that, we want to cross-leverage other applications from the SAP Business Technology Platform so that our combined offering can drive end-to-end process automation.

By combining Ruum with other SAP solutions such as BSR on Spotlight, SAP Cloud Platform Workflow Management and SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation we can derive insights and set up streamlined processes without requiring coding skills and lengthy IT projects. Therefore, we are now making Ruum for Processes available via an Extended Beta and inviting more customers to apply for the next phase.

An example of how we work and achieve significant insights with our beta customers is the virtual hackathon. After successfully concluding a great event with Evonik a few weeks ago, we realized that this collaboration format is not only possible but really productive, insightful and enjoyable!

As a result, we will do this with different partners to holistically understand user behavior while using the beta features in relevant business scenarios – because a beta is the most customer-driven phase of product development. In this next phase, almost everything that’s coded and tested will be based on our beta tester’s feedback.

So please join us for the SAP Ruum Extended Beta!
